On February 25, 2023 Mercer Redcross was honored by the Philadelphia Museum of Art for his legacy as a national leader and advocate for Black art & artists. The Honorable Vincent Hughes was part of the ceremony.
Mercer Redcross was selected as one of Fun Times Magazine's 2018 Men of Influence. FunTimes Magazine operates from offices in Philadelphia, PA. They celebrate African, Caribbean and African American communities in the Delaware Valley.

October Gallery is Celebrating 38 Years in the African-American Art Industry and has operated a physical art gallery in Philadelphia, PA since its inception. The gallery is one of the oldest African-American art galleries in the nation.
The gallery’s first location was in the Powelton Village section of Philadelphia.
Today, October Gallery is located in Germantown/Mt Airy where it continues
to promote African-American art, artists and consumer education.
The Gallery also presents the Philadelphia International Art Expo in the fall of every year. This event, now in its 38th year, from 1998 to 2010 was the nation’s largest African-American Art Expo.
Redcross graduated from Cheyney University with a BS in Economics.
Then, he earned a Masters of Business Administration from Eastern University.
He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
